President of Thailand’s Walailak University

Professor Tamroung Taniaveng of Thailand stressed on deepening scientific ties between Al-Mustafa International University and Thai academic centers, “The scientific and cultural ties between Islamic Republic of Iran and Thailand must be enhanced,” he said.

Hawzah News Agency- During a meeting with some officials of Al-Mustafa International University in Qom, Professor Tamroung Taniaveng, President of Walailak University of Thailand, expressed his happiness for being in Iran and added, “I really thank the Iranian people and government for their hearty message of condolence on demise of Thailand’s King,”

 

He then asserted, although the late king of Thailand was a Buddhist, he greatly respected divine religions, particularly Islam,  “ The late king of Thailand always helped the followers of other religions as well, he had great respect for Thai Muslim community and every year he would issue some specific instructions to help the Muslim minority in Thailand,”

 

Elsewhere in his remarks, the President of Walailak University pointed out that during the last decades, Thai people have greatly made familiar with Iranian culture, reiterating, “The scientific and cultural ties between the two countries must be enhanced, Iranian President’s recent trip to Thailand will result in development of scientific, political as well as economic ties between the two nations,”

 

Professor Tamroung then gave a brief report on some of the ongoing activities in their university in Thailand, “I really hope this trip would pave the way for deepening mutual ties and growing cooperation between the academic centers of Iran and Thailand,” he concluded.
