Hawzah\ The Assembly of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon have requested that a major Islamic meeting be held that investigates the Hajj activities and forms a committee from amongst the Islamic governments, who have the responsibility of overseeing and managing the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Hawzah News Agency (International Desk) - The Assembly of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon have requested that a major Islamic meeting be held that investigates the Hajj activities and forms a committee from amongst the Islamic governments, who have the responsibility of overseeing and managing the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

 

This party, in a statement requesting the formation of a legislative committee to manage the Hajj, added, ‘The responsibility of this committee is that they must investigate the incident of the previous year (Mina) and specify who was responsible for the tragedy; in addition they must uncover whether it was something done intentionally or was a genuine an error of judgment, so that this incident does not occur again in the future.’     

 

This assembly strongly condemned the decision to prevent Iranian, Syrian, Yemeni and other personalities from participating in the Hajj because of their association to the resistance movement and political standpoints. They also requested the Lebanese Administration to look into their conscious and hold governmental elections at the earliest opportunity before the political life of Lebanon becomes suspended.
