Speaking at a conference on "Moralities and Razavi Manners" held in the Iranian city of Arak, Ayatollah Araki asserted, "Imam Ali (PBUH), addressed Kumayl ibn Ziyad and told him, people are of three groups, the first are those who seek knowledge and their hearts are enlightened by God; It means they possess both knowledge and insight, they apply their insight and consciousness to light their way for using their knowledge,"

Reiterating that the insightful elite are the main pillars of any righteous society he added, "These people serve as the society's eyes and feet in order to find the true path and move towards that direction,"

He then highlighted that being "elite" does not mean to just speak nice words or to maintain good looks since there are many individuals who talk well, but fail to realize what they say in action. Elite is the one who is knowledgeable at the same time goes through with his remarks and rhetoric,"

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Araki touched on the second group of people according to Imam Ali's narration and said, "The second group are those who follow the first group as their model, meaning they are able to recognize the righteous elite and follow them,"

He went on, "The third are those who are neither elite nor follow the righteous elites. This group of people impose the most damages to the society and always cause failure and disorder,"

It must be noted that at the end of this conference, late Ayatollah Sayyed Nour-ul-din Mir Mahdi's scientific position was commemorated; He was a senior Shia cleric in Markazi Province.
