USM adds prayer room facility for Muslim students
The University of Southern Maine (USM) is adding a new prayer room to better accommodate Muslim students and students of other faiths. Construction will be completed by late October or early November

Taliban attacks killed ۵۰ in two Afghan provinces
The Taliban militants have launched coordinated attacks on police forces in two neighboring provinces in southern Afghanistan, leaving at least ۵۰ people dead and more than ۲۰۰ others injured. In one attack the militants stormed a police station and a checkpoint in the center of Andar District, leaving ۱۵ policemen dead and ۱۲ others injured.

A Qatari institute plans to distribute ۴۰۰۰ packages containing Quran copies in braille among the visually impaired in Tunisia, Turkey, Britain and Morocco. Every package has an electronic talking pen which enables the users to select and listen to the Quranic verses as well.

Israel's new plan to build settler units in East Jerusalem al-Quds
Israeli authorities have started construction work on a controversial settlement project in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds. The units being constructed in Givat Hamatos could cut East Jerusalem off from neighboring Bethlehem. This project had previously halted over opposition from the former US administration.
