A cleric in Kuwait received a five years prison sentence

The Kuwaiti appeal court upheld the five years prison sentence previously given to the secretary general of the Islamic Alliance. Three years ago, the Interior Ministry of Kuwait also claimed that 12 Kuwaiti Shias, charged with spying, had been tried in their absence and then arrested.

Hawzah News Agency (Kuwait city, Kuwait) - Kuwait appeal court upheld the five years prison sentence previously given to Sheikh Hussain al-Maatooq, the secretary general of the Kuwaiti Islamic Alliance.

According to the Bahraini news website, Mirat al-Bahrain, the Kuwaiti judicial system has sentenced Sheikh Maatooq for hiding the information of the criminals, a case called Abduli Core (Khalia al-Abduli).

Moreover, the mentioned court has similarly given the deputy of Sheikh Maatoq, Hashim Fazil, a five years prison sentence, and three other people related to this case were arrested by the order of the court.

Kuwaiti Shias are wronged occasionally as the heads of this country follow Saudi Arabia that regards itself as the elder brother of other Araba states of the Persian Gulf.

Three years ago, the Interior Ministry of Kuwait also claimed that 12 Kuwaiti Shias, charged with spying, had been tried in their absence and then arrested.
