Women League: Kawempe Muslim extend unbeaten run

Juliet Nakulenge and Tracy Jones Akiror were on target as Kawempe Muslim extended their unbeaten run to eight games.

Hawzah News Agency (Kampala, Uganda) -  Defending champions Kawempe Muslim extended their lead in the Victoria Group to 22 points after defeating Dynamic SS 2-0 away in Mityana in the FUFA Women Elite League as the second round got underway.

Juliet Nakulenge and Tracy Jones Akiror were on target as Kawempe Muslim extended their unbeaten run to eight games. They have won seven and drawn one.

Elsewhere, Nulu Nanyanzi’s only goal saw Lady Doves defeat Rines 1-0, while Biira Nadunga’s strike saw Town View go down 1-0 to Olila Women FC.

Despite settling for a 2-2 draw with Isra Soccer Academy, Kampala Queens remained top of the Elizabeth Group with 15 points. Doreen Nabukeera and Lillian Mutuuzo were on target for the Queens, while Fauzia Najjemba and Shamirah Nalugya each had a goal for Isra.

In Mukono, Hasifah Nassuna scored four goals as UCU Lady Cardinals humbled debutants Lango Queens 5-1. Maureen Kinavudori added the other goal for UCU.

The victory saw UCU move from fourth to second position with 15 points like table leaders Kampala Queens.
