Abuja to host Islam-Christianity dialogue

Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, will play host to an Islam-Christianity dialogue later this month.

Hawzah News Agency (Abuja, Nigeria) - Slated for Saturday, August 25, the event will be organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Nigeria in cooperation with the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Avoiding religious crises in Nigeria and peaceful resolution of conflicts will be the theme of the conference.

A number of Muslim and Christian scholars will take part in the conference to discuss the views of Islam and Christianity on developing peace among followers of different faiths and preventing violence.

Nigeria has been witnessing religious and ethnic tensions in recent years, with extremist groups like Boko Haram fanning the flames of interreligious violence.
