Muslim clerics, students distribute thousands of hot meals, shoes among the poor in Tehran

Muslims clerics and students distributed 2,000 hot meals, 2,256 pairs of shoes and 55 food baskets among people in economically distressed areas of Tehran province.

Hawzah News Agency (Tehran, Iran) - In an interview with Hawzah News' correspondent in the city of Tehran, Hujjat al-Islam Mustafa Inanlou, a missionary from the 12th district of Tehran (Harandi neighborhood), emphasized that helping the deprived and poor people is one of the duties of the clerics and said, "On the eve of the Rajab month and as we are also very close to the arrival of the new Persian year, a group of missionaries and philanthropist students in regions 1 and 12 of Tehran distributed 55 food baskets among the poor in the disadvantaged neighborhood of Harandi."

 

The Muslim cleric asserted that serving the poor and the needy should be carried out by preserving their human dignity and self-confidence and said, “The goal of distributing food baskets was to help livelihood of poor households, reduce their expenses and improve their nutritional status.”

 

 

He added, "The gifted packages contained items such as rice, cooking oil, macaroni, soybeans, legumes, sugar, tea, chicken, etc. and their overall value was 150 million Rials."

Hujjat al-Islam Inanlou further added, "In addition to giving out food baskets, 2,000 hot meals were also delivered to the needy people. Moreover, 2,256 pairs of shoes were gifted to the students in economically distressed areas of Tehran province."
