 Quran Competition for the Elderly Planned in Qatar

The 5th edition of a Quran memorization and recitation contest for the elderly in Qatar elders will be organized in April.

Hawzah News Agency (Doha, Qatar) - According to Al-Sharq newspaper, "read the verses [of Quran], reach goals" is the motto of the competition, slated to be held by "Ihsan" Center for Rehabilitation and Supporting the Elders in Qatar.

The main objective of the competition is to encourage the senior members of the society to spend time on reading and memorizing the Quran.

 

 

Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will cooperate in holding the competition from April 8 to 16.

It has been planned for men and women aged 60 and above.

 

 

Registration for the competition started on March 4 and will continue until March 22.

Khaloud Maliki, an organizer of the competition, said that the Quranic event also aims to highlight the social role of the center, introduce the services that it provides for the elderly and promote the relationship of this group of people with the Divine Book.
