Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi received a political delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan region on Friday, March 2 in his office in the holy city of Najaf during which he remarked, "Unity must be preserved among all Iraqi citizens; the disagreements between different groups must be solved through dialogue in order to strengthen our national solidarity."

The Shia scholar addressed the Kurdish officials saying that love of country is considered as a form of religious faith and advised them to preserve national unity in Iraq through faith. He also pointed out that future Iraqi teachers, educators and university professors must possess the love of their country deep in their hearts.

Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi added, "I pay special attention to the developments in north of Iraq as well as other regions in the country."

 In the sidelines of this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Ali al-Najafi, head of Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi’s office, announced to media that, "The only option ahead of Iraq is maintaining their national unity and solidarity since such condition can pave the way for constructive dialogues among different Iraqi groups and political parties in near future.”
