Grand Ayat sistani

Head of Iraq’s Dar Al-Fata movement said: "I believe that Shia Muslims are members of our whole Islamic body, so we must stay united. Sunni-Shia Muslims must unite to fight sectarian plots".

Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – Shaykh Mahdi al-Samidi issued a message to Grand Ayatollah al-Sistani, a Shia source of emulation in which he urged unity within the Islamic world.

In his message, the Sunni mufti asserted, “I send this message to Grand Ayatollah Sistani whole-heartedly to ask him to help strengthen unity within Iraq; I also ask the whole Iraqi nation, both Shia and Sunni Muslims, to stay united in order to fight the enemies’ sectarian plots and oppressive measures.”

He added, “Grand Ayatollah Sistani has said before that ‘We’re one with Sunni Muslims’; I also believe that Shia Muslims are members of our whole Islamic body, so we must stay united. We should cherish this valuable bond and do not underappreciate this opportunity. “

Shaykh Samidi went on, “It’s my responsibility to restore the Islamic community to its original state and remove the doctrine that has brought political ISIS into Islam.”

Referring to some sectarian conferences which are going to be held by some Iraqi Sunnis he added, “We condemn any kind of political sectarian meetings which sow discord within Muslim community.”

End.
