Iranian senior cleric has branded condolences sent by the White House over recent Tehran attacks as “repugnant.”

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Addressing a group of people on the occasion of first Qadr night in  a seminary school in Qom on Tuesday, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi slammed White House's insincere condolences for the recent terrorist attacks in Tehran and said, "During these attacks in Tehran, 17 innocent civilians were killed; Some US politicians sought this opportunity to extend their hateful rhetoric towards Iran and the Iranian people. "

"This could have been a great chance for the US to offer their sincere condolences to the people of Iran and alleviate Iranians' hatred toward them, but instead their stances regarding these attacks united the nation of Iran against them. No human being with conscious and reason would speak such hateful words that some US politicians uttered regarding Tehran Attacks."

At least 17 people died and dozens were injured in gun and bomb attacks at the Iranian parliament and Imam Khomeini’s shrine in Tehran on Wednesday, last week. The attacks were claimed by ISIS.
