"Sadly Yemen is presently at war and experiencing terrible conditions. Yemenis are faced with numerous disasters such as health problems, starvation, poverty and murder of the innocent people on a daily basis," said a Shia source of emulation.

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Speaking at his Quranic interpretation course in Qom’s Hujjatiya Seminary school on Tuesday, Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani made some remarks on the worsening conditions in Yemen and said, "Yemen is considered as one of the greatest ancient civilizations in the world with a bright history, but sadly it’s presently at war and experiencing terrible conditions."

"Yemen is a country with a huge population who has made great contributions to mankind throughout history; for instance, Yemenis were the first nation ever to build dams on rivers. Unfortunately, this country is going through war right now."

The Shia cleric further said, "Today, Yemenis are faced with numerous disasters such as health problems, starvation, poverty and murder of the innocent people on a daily basis. Nobody seems to care about them or offer them any help; this is all caused by lack of religious moralities that these people are being currently oppressed by the enemies. Nontheistic power of arrogant rulers has caused such terrible conditions."
