Seminaries of Qom and Lebanon to boost Mutual Ties

Head of the Iranian Seminary’s office for International Relations reports on the results of his recent trip to Lebanon. "We are seeking ways to promote interactions between the seminary of Qom and the seminaries of Lebanon; we also hope to capitalize on our diverse religious and cultural potentials in seminaries of both countries, in order to realize our objectives."

Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran)Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mofid Husseini Kouhsari had an interview with Hawzah News correspondent in Qom during which he elaborated on the outcomes of his recent visit to Lebanon; "This was my first trip since taking office at the International Relations Center of Iranian seminaries; Hujjat al-Islam Al-e-Ayoub, Head of Seminary’s office for the International Affairs also accompanied me on this trip."

 

Elaborating on the purpose of his trip to Lebanon, Hujjat al-Islam Kouhsari added, "Promoting mutual cooperation between Iranian and Lebanese Shia seminaries and Islamic scholars were among our top priorities during this trip."

 

"Developing ties with Sunni scholars, their religious organizations as well as scientific institutes were other objectives that we pursued during this trip; fortunately, we reached promising results on our discussions with Sunni figures and further negotiated ways of improving ties between the seminary of Qom and Lebanese Sunni scholars."

 

Hujjat al-Islam Husseini Kouhsari further reiterated, "During our meetings, Lebanese scholars welcomed enhancing cooperation with Iranian seminary lecturers, especially from the seminary of Qom."

 

In the end, the cleric concluded the interview by asserting, "We are seeking ways to promote interactions between the seminary of Qom and the seminaries of Lebanon; we also hope to capitalize on our diverse religious and cultural potentials in seminaries of both countries, in order to realize our objectives, we have come up with short and long-term agendas which will be implemented in future."
